Tropical Cyclone 8P tracks southeastward in Coral Sea, Jan. 29. Flooding, transport disruptions likely in New Caledonia and Vanuatu.

Legazpi Airport in the Philippines remains closed as of Jan. 23 due to Mayon Volcano activity. Danger zone expanded.

A magnitude-7.8 earthquake occurred in the western Caribbean Sea close to Great Swan Island, Honduras, at 20:51 CST on January 9. Significant damage is likely on islands close to the epicenter. Moderate to strong aftershocks are also likely.

The Pope will visit Chile between 15 and 18 January and then Peru from 18 to 21 January. The cities on his itinerary include Santiago, Temuco and Iquique in Chile and Lima, Puerto Maldonado and Trujillo in Peru. Disruptions and delays are expected due to the anticipated crowds and increased security.

An updated version of the USA President’s executive order relating to the travel ban was upheld by the Supreme Court on 4 December 2017. There have been numerous changes to the previous executive order.

Ground staff at Paris Orly Airport (ORY) in France will be striking daily from December 22 to January 5 between the hours of 1100-1300 and 1700-1900. Flight disruptions are likely.

On Monday, December 4th, the Supreme Court decided to allow the third and most recent version of the Trump administration’s travel ban to go into effect. This entry ban affects nationals of Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Chad, North Korea, and Venezuela. Unlike the previous ban, this version is indefinite and restrictions vary by country.

Moderate to heavy snowfall has led to major flight disruptions at airports serving London, UK (LHR, LTN, STN); Amsterdam, Netherlands (AMS); Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH); and Duesseldorf (DUS), Frankfurt (FRA), and Munich (MUC) in Germany on December 10. Numerous cancellations and significant delays are expected at these airports.

London's Heathrow Airport is currently experiencing flight delays after heavy snow and rain over the weekend. Other Surrounding airports have also been affected including Birmingham, Luton and Gatwick.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has issued a warning to individuals planning to travel to Jordan, Israel, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank that there may be widespread protests following US President Don­ald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as ­Israel’s capital and move the US embassy there. DFAT is yet to update their travel warning but this is currently in review and may change.
