Providing contact details when booking your next business trip

Effective 1 June 2019, under the International Airline Transport Association (IATA) ruling, travel agents such as Campus Travel are required to actively ask customers whether they wish to have their contact details (mobile and/or email) provided to airlines for the purposes of contact in the event of operational disruption i.e. flight schedule changes and cancellations.

Travellers may elect to withhold the requested contact information, however where travellers choose not to provide the information the travel agent must record the refusal in the traveller’s booking. Travellers should be aware that if contact information is not provided to Campus Travel, they may not receive up to date information from the airline relating to flight cancellations or schedule changes.

Contact information is collected, stored, accessed, used and disclosed in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009.

The health and safety of our travellers are priorities for UQ, and we therefore recommend that all travellers update their contact information, including mobile phone and email, with Campus Travel when they make their next booking.
