Travel Alert – London 22 March 2017

At around 1500 GMT on Wednesday 22 March a man drove his car into a group of pedestrians on Westminster Bridge in London before crashing into railings.  He then exited the vehicle and stabbed a police officer who was protecting parliament before being shot and killed by police. 

At this stage, authorities are treating this incident as an act of terror and a major investigation is underway.  The area around Westminster remains cordoned off but public transport is operating as normal.

London's airports are open and operating although people may notice a stronger police presence in the airports and around the city.
