Tropical Cyclone Alfred could make landfall in South East Queensland by Thursday 05 March 2025.

Due to its unpredictable path and potential impact, we recommend that all travellers in the affected areas stay updated on weather forecasts and follow local authorities' instructions.

Travellers with confirmed bookings are advised to monitor flight status with your airline/s.

UQ recommends travellers explore their options now for changing or cancelling. Travellers should be aware of cost implications and time restrictions (e.g. cancellation window).

UQ travellers who incur reasonable and necessary cancellation and disruption expenses relating to approved UQ travel as a result of this weather event can submit an insurance claim for consideration by UQ’s travel insurer. All claims will be assessed by UQ’s travel insurer on a case by case basis according to policy terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions.
