Rail service disruptions on Southern and South West networks in the UK

4 Aug 2017

Network Rail is scheduled to undertake major improvement work at London Waterloo Station in the United Kingdom between August 5 to 28. The work will require the partial closure of the station, which is one of the busiest in London. Schedule alterations and reduced rail services will be in place on the Southern and South West Trains networks, with significantly fewer trains to run on both networks.

Expect disruptions to routes to and from Waterloo Station between August 5 to 28. Overcrowding is likely on alternative routes - including those running through Clapham Junction, London Victoria, Vauxhall, and Wimbledon stations - especially during the morning and evening rush hours. There will also likely be increased demand for alternative forms of transport, including taxis and rental vehicles, and overcrowding on Tube and bus services throughout the period.
